Keresahan tengah menimpa jiwa Anang Ma’ruf. Sebulan lamanya meninggalkan pesantren, batinnya bergejolak. Ia merasa ada sesuatu yang hilang. Padahal, secara ekonomi, kehidupannya kini jauh lebih enak dibanding tinggal di pesantren dulu. Selidik punya selidik, akhirnya iapun menemukan jawabannya. “Tinggal di luar (pesantren) itu menjauhkan kita dari jama’ah,” begitu ujarnya mengenang.
